The Wolverines organization who represents Mountain House in the Amateur Athletics Union (AAU) circuit have started the Spring 2015 season.
Many of the Wolverines teams play year round, so the Spring is part of their yearly routine as the rosters stay together. Other teams run only in the Spring and Summer due to kids being in alternate activities in Fall and Winter. High school teams only run Fall and Spring, and play with their high schools in Winter and summer league.
Through it all, 75% of each team’s roster stays together from one season to the next. Quite an impressive feat since most of the Wolverines kids continually get recruited by other AAU organizations on a regular basis. The organization is primarily-invite only and tryouts for a newly forming team are rare.
Principal Director Reno Ursal believes in sustainable growth. “Each team must have exceptional leadership to provide a healthy environment for the players and families. If we don’t think there is a Head Coach who can properly manage a team through the ups and downs of an AAU season, we won’t form the team. We could have had 20+ teams, but focusing on smart growth has kept the Wolverines moving forward towards our goal of providing a quality experience.”
The Wolverines will be running 11 teams in the Spring 2015 season, marking the first time the Wolverines will have more than 10 teams run in the same season.
Boys – 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, 14u and JV HS boys
Girls -12u, 14u and Varsity HS Girls
Good luck to all Wolverines teams this Spring!
